Hello everyone!!
Welcome to “Tutorial tuesday” post.Today i made a altered hoop using the “Beach shack” collection. This collection has some
real life beachy images and textures.
First step is to coat the hoop with two layers of heavy white gesso.Once it dried i colored the hoop
with pigment ink pads in shades of green, teal, brown and black.
I just dabbed the colors directly from the ink padNext apply crackle paste randomly on some areas with palette knife and allow it
to dry completely.Next i cut out a circle using chipboard and adhered the pattern paper to it.Since i am going to use lots
of mediums it will give some strength. To tone down the background pattern i applied a coat of watered down white gesso.
Next i added two more paper layers, just stick the lower half of the paper, tear the upper half in wavy form
and curl it a bit to resemble waves.I coated the whole thing with a layer of clear gesso.Next i applied modelling paste through ripple stencils and colored it using sprays in shades of blue, green
and brown. Now stick the base to the hoop.So here is my finished project,i went a bit on grungy side to resemble the deep sea treasures.
To create texture on the background i used gauze cloth and some teared down laces. All the chipboard designs
are also colored in the same way as the hoop
I added some shells, art stones in different sizes and sequins to add more texture and shine.
