I love creating layouts using more than 1 range of papers. Finding ways of incorporating different papers and elements together is so much fun.
Today I am showing you how I used the 2 ranges from this month together to create a double page layout. And I simply love it!
In my opinion it adds lots of interest. It can also help you use up all your stash that may be stumping your creativity a bit.
Use what you have and find ways to make it work together beautifully.
Adding Interest to your flowers
For my flower centers I used a custom mixture of different coloured micro-beads and glitter. I wanted to add some dimension to the flowers
and this was the perfect way to do it without too much bulk. The different colours also helped to pull together all the different colours in my layout.
step 1 – Cut out all the flowers for your layout using your Precision scissors from the Moonstone paper sheet.
step 2 – Add a small amount of dimensional glaze where you want to add the beads.
step 3 – Lightly sprinkle the micro-bead mixture over the glaze and leave to dry. Decant the excess beads back into the container.
Adding colour to the background
To pull everything together on my background I used different inks in green and purple, representing the two different ranges of papers.
step 1 – Add a few drops of ink onto a small plastic packet. Lightly mist the ink with water.
step 2 – Stamp the ink onto the patterned paper sheets you are using on your background.
step 3 – Leave the ink to dry completely and then cut your different papers into strips to use on your background.
The inked paper strips form my background and the inked pieces adds interest and ties everything together beautifully.
Cluster the flowers in the top left and right hand corners to frame your photos and paper strips in the middle.
A few dark purple elements like the stamped triangle and buttons pick up on the dark purple pieces throughout the layout.
