Peppermint Kisses with a twist

Welcome to today’s blog post with me Jowilna. Today I am sharing a single page layout using the stunning Peppermint Kisses range with a fun and easy inked technique. Take a look how I created this fun effect.

A while ago I wanted to achieve a lines look using a stencil. Well said stencil does not exist in my stash so I set about achieving my own dimensional effect with paper strips.

Kaisercraft Products used: P2817 Santa & Co, P2811 Fun & Festive, CT969 Collectables, CR215 Curios, IP748 Forest Ink Pad – Water Based, IP738 Lipstick, IP745 Spearmint, and Fern.
Other: White cardstock, rhinestones, pearls, sewing machine.

Look how fun the background looks with this easy technique.
Fun and colorful like the gorgeous elements from this paper range.
Step 1 – Use white smooth cardstock and cut some strips about 5mm wide {1/4″}, then trim them shorter into different lengths.
Step 2 – Adhere the strips randomly to a white cardstock background. Make sure that the effect is random and staggered.
Step 3 – Once you are happy with your strips, use shades of red and pink inks and blend over the top half of your strips. Blend randomly and only in a selected area.
Step 4 – Next blend the lower half of your strips in shades of green. Splatter the ink with water and use a roller towel to roll over the water drops to dry them. The water will lift the ink and create a fun effect.
Step 5 – Now you are ready to dress up your layout with cut out elements, collectibles and embellishments.
These Curious are perfect to complete the look.
Use foam tape to raise some of the elements for dimension and layering.
Until next time – I hope you are inspired by this easy technique mimicking a stenciled effect with dimension.
