Technique Tuesday – Sewing and stamping

Welcome to another Technique Tuesday on the blog. Today I am sharing a quick and easy way of adding some texture and detail to stamped images. I love using my stamps in different ways and this is such an easy way of dressing up your stamped details.

Kaisercraft: Crafternoon Collection P2841 Back Stitch; P2845 DIY; SK818 Sticker Book;
PP1078 Paper Pad; CT972 Collectables
Kaisercraft Products: SB782 Denim Pearls; Rhinestones; CS369 Clear Stamps; IP752 Smoke

I stamped the heart onto my background and then used a paper piercer to pierce holes, before adding sewing to the outlines of the heart and the crosses inside. Heres how I did it:
Stamp the image onto smooth white cardstock.
Use your paper piercer and pierce holes at the end of each line.
Thread your needle and make a knot at the end. Start sewing from the back to the front and then to the back – keep going until you have sewn all the crosses and the border. Adhere the end of the thread using double sided tape at the back.
For an even cleaner sewn look, you can use a lighter colour ink or the same colour as the thread you are using.
A lovely quick and easy way to add detail to your stamped images – by using the stamped lines as a guide to add sewing.
Until next time – Happy stamping and sewing! Jowilna x
