Flashback Friday – Breathe

Breathe was the second collection released in March and there have been some great projects that we seen shared our the Kaisercraft corner. When searching them these ones took our eye and then saw they were all by the lovely Roxanne Smith. She didn’t just share one but two singles and a double. What an awesome effort and great layouts, that we hope inspires you to have a play with this collection. Thanks so much for sharing your creations with us Roxanne.

A few words from Roxanne:
I am totally in love with the blue papers and quotes of the Kaisercraft Breathe Collection! I managed to create three layouts using just these papers with complementary touch of the pinks. The inspiration behind this double layout was the bold but symmetrical of the Joyful Days paper. I incorporated this symmetry into the double layout and embellished with the gorgeous flowers from the Efflorescence paper. The quotes from the Clear Skies paper and some silver glitter cardstock then highlighted the angelic photos I have used. I absolutely loved using this collection 💙

Finished my first page with the Kaisercraft Breathe Collection 💙🖤. I was trying to keep everything at angles until I added the blue Oxide Ink 😂 then it just turned to a typical “boy” page 😂. – Roxanne

I am very excited to get a second layout done while still in the release month for this collection 😍. I didn’t like the pink in this collection very much to begin with until I feel in love with the large saying I used in this layout. Then I came to enjoy the pink highlights 💟. They will even feature in my next layout with this collection 🤭. -Roxanne

Made it to a third layout in a month with a current collection 😁. I created this double layout using the Kaisercraft Breathe collection. I just love the blues of this collection and touches of pink💗. I also added some silver glitter stock to highlight the angelic photos 🐶👼. I love my new photo model too!

You have every reason to be proud of yourself Roxanne as the projects you have shared are gorgeous projects that you have created.

Thank you for being an active part of our KAISERCRAFT CORNER community.

Breathe – Layered Layouts

Either love it or hate it fussy cutting is a technique that shows up a lot in paper craft…..

Is it one of those things that you have wanted to try ? But not sure how to start?

Well today’s post is for you as some of the Team share some hints

and tricks on how to achieve this technique using the stunning Kaisercraft Breathe Collection – IN STORE NOW !!!

”Special” Layout by Rikki G

When I start layering, I look at all the fussy cutting and try to give them some direction and flow….

With this layout I sort of weaved them around the photo and quote.

To help that I used the flower and leaf spray to direct your eye around the page.

”Extraordinary Happiness” Layout by Alicia McNamara

Kaisercraft Breathe Layout by Alicia McNamara

There are a few things I love about Fussy Cutting.  It is an affordable way to stretch the capabilities of the papers and it allows for individual creativity.

In this layout I combined Fussy Cutting with Die Cutting and Stickers to coordinate the products and create a layered cluster.

I started the process by die cutting lots of flower die cuts from MOSAIC STROKE (Reverse).

Then I fussy cut some large flowers from SOFT PASTEL.

I layered the fussy cut flowers on first in a tear-drop shape.

Then I added the die cut flowers in as well.  On top and underneath the already organised flowers.

After I had the base of my layers prepared I added my photo, bunting, stickers and title.

Breathe Card Set with Terhi

Hello Kaisercraft Fans!

Terhi Koskinen here to share you some card inspiration.
Before explaining much about these cards, I need to admit I wasn’t very keen on card making some time ago. I find myself more as a scrapbooker and paper crafter but cards are always a challenge. So to lower the challenge of creating cards I have discovered couple of tricks!
First: Keep it simple.
Second: Layer it.
Third (and most important): Don’t stress about it!

Products used:

BREATHE Collection: P2703 Soft Pastel, P2704 Blue Blush, P2707 Pale Wonder, P2708, Efflorescence,

P2709 Floral Twilight, P2711 Clear Skies,

CT956 Collectables
SB716 Blush Pearls, CD301 White Cardstock,

KM121 Kaiser Mist White, T303 Foam Tape, T321 Glue.

Keeping my thoughts in those three simple tricks, I let myself  dive into the fabulous Breathe Collection and just like magic these cards were created!
I decided to make small cards and build them more dimensional than vertical or horizontal.
Fussy cutting is so close to my heart, cutting different leaves, blooms and flowers out of full sized papers was  fun.
Then, I just added one phrase die cut on top, and that’s it!

Well, I did add some pearls too. And doodling!
Never underestimate the power of pens and pencils.
Some white details with a pen and splashes with white Kaiser Mist were the perfect finishing touches for the cards.
This set of cards made me want to do more!

Hope you are inspired!
Terhi xx

Use white cardstock as a blank canvas for a layout

Welcome to today’s blog post with me,  Jowilna. I love working on white for my layout backgrounds.
Some people find it boring and intimidating – for me its a blank canvas of opportunity.

I can literally do anything on the background including techniques and stamping
without making my layout too cluttered and busy, or losing focus of the photos and the story that I want to tell.

Secrets of white:
Add interest to the background using ink splats, stamping, stenciling and techniques.
White makes your photos stand out more.
A Blank canvas can be dressed up without looking cluttered with your patterned papers, collectibles and die-cuts.
In design, White space lets your eye rest while it moves on to the next interesting part of your layout.
Not all white or empty space is a bad thing.
White is the perfect neutral colour that will complement difficult photos and papers without competing with them.
It lets you do lots of technique on it without competing for attention.
You can colour white to match your papers and elements perfectly with inks and mists.

From the Soft Pastel page cut out the large flower from the centre of the page.

Cut out 2 large flowers from the Blue Blush floral sheet as well.

Die-cut 11 x leaves from the Navy Night sheet of paper using your DIY Cuts machine.

Matt your photos onto navy cardstock. Adhere the large photo on the right-hand side first 6cm from the bottom edge.

The photo on the right measures 21x15cm (8 ¼ x5 ½”).

Now adhere the large cut out flower on the left-hand side of your layout overlapping onto the photo on the right-hand side.

Then adhere the photo on the left-hand side.
The photo on the left measure 11x15cm (4 ½ x5 ½”).

Gather your collectables and sticker book.

Create your clusters on the left and right-hand side of your photos using collectibles and die-cut leaves.

Layer the elements using foam tape to create dimension.

Use your Kaisermists to add splats onto the background.

Remember to cover up your photos to avoid getting ink splats onto them.

Leave the splats to dry.

Add Curious to the layout.

From your sticker book add the word ‘breathe’ as your title.

Combine it with other sticker words and collectibles elements.

At the bottom of your layout, tear a piece of navy-blue paper from the Paper Pad.

Adhere the torn piece of paper flush with the bottom edge of your layout on the right-hand side using craft glue.

Layer a sticker sentiment over the torn piece of paper from your sticker book.

Add more collectible elements and layer a flower with some thread for interest and texture.

Finish off your layout with diamante and journaling.

The white background offers a nice clean canvas for you to create beautiful layered clusters, ink splats and techniques.

Layer cut out flowers, die-cut leaves and collectibles to create a visual cluster on your white background with loads of impact.

Thanks for visiting – I hope you can see the value of working on a blank canvas/white background
– you can do anything without cluttering your layout and losing focus of the story and photos.

Breathe Collection Layouts

Hey Guys.. Kasia here today sharing a layout I created with the Breathe Collection.

I am totally loving not only the colour palette of this collection

with the soft pink and bold navy, but the wonderful inspiring words.

This is a layout of my little girl because she often needs to slow down, just breathe and chill…lol!

BREATHE  Collection: P2705 Navy Night,
P2708 Efflorescence, P2704 Blue Blush, P2711 Clear Skies,
P2703 Soft Pastel, SK803 Sticker Book, CR203 Curios.

SB716 Blush Pearls, KM132 Gold Shimmer KAISERmist.
You can download the step-by-step instructions HERE.

I loved using the Breathe sticker book to add little embellishments to this layout

and I know I will be using the remainder of the stickers in my planner to keep me motivated.

It’s Cathy here and I was inspired by the background paper. I found a photo to coordinate with the paper and hence the collection. I am a firm believer that you can

add flowers to  masculine pages and had fun using the collectable flowers to add some finishing touches.
