Dance like no one’s watching

I was so excited when asked by Melissa Kennedy to be a guest designer for July. I was also thrilled to be given the beautifully magical “Enchanted” collection to create my project with, it features mystical fairytale imagery of trees, mushrooms & hidden doors.

PAPERS: Enchanted collection: P2784 Whimsy|P2786 Mystical|P2787 Fairytale|P2788 Idyllic|P2790 Starry-eyed|P2791 Utopia|CT966 Collectables|PP1072 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad

KC PRODUCTS: CD325 Ruby Kaisercard|SB711 Red Rhinestones|T303 Foam Tape

As soon as I saw this collection and the beautiful Whimsy paper I knew how I wanted my layout to turn out and I had the perfect photo in mind. I started by cutting out the trees from three of the Whimsy papers and layering them up, I wanted to give the illusion of looking through the trees. I matted these onto the reverse of the Idyllic paper and then onto the Ruby Kaisercard with just a little bit of the cardstock showing top and bottom of the layout. I printed out my photo so it fitted perfectly in the centre.

I love stitching on my layouts, so added some hand stitching at the top and bottom with colour coordinating thread. I fussy cut all the beautiful elements from the Starry-eyed & Utopia papers and the door from the Mystical paper.

The beautiful bright red flowers were fussy cut from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad. I then started to add all the elements around my layout, tucking them in between the tree layers to form little clusters. I also love the info strips you get at the bottom of all the Kaisercraft papers – they often have beautiful sayings on them and they also make great titles. I added one to the bottom of my layout.

I added foam pads to some to give height and dimension.

To finish off I added some rhinestones to the centres of some of the fussy cut flora.

The Enchanted Collection is so beautiful – its suitable for projects featuring children playing, strolls through the woods, just your favourite outdoorsy photos and much more.

I hope you have enjoyed my first project as a Guest Designer for Kaisercraft and hope you are inspired to use your beautiful Enchanted collection.

Happy crafting!!

Now to create this door you need a little fussy cutting but not a lot I promise- you dont even have to add the second sheet of the Mystical if you dont want to…. just cut your door and add your photo behind it and add it to the your background.

I created a secret pocket … a mini envelope for a hidden note that my daughter can find, some thing special for her…..

Add finishing touches like these amazing NEW CURIOS….

Now to make this layout for yourself you can down load the PDF from here.

Enchanted Double Page Inspiration

How wonderful is this new Enchanted Collection? And when you have the perfect photos to capture it makes it truly magical. I scrapped these photos of my friend’s grand kids, making this a truly magical layout capturing their memories beautifully.

Products used
Enchanted Collection: P2786 Mystical | P2787 Fairytale | P2791 Utopia
KC Products: CT966 Collectibles, SK812 Sticker Book, CS357 Clear Stamps DD3341 Antique Keys Decorative Die, Foam Tape, IP751 Chocolate ink pad
The gorgeous flowers in this collection are easy to fussy cut and layer to create interest.
Collectibles elements and sticker with words on are a favorite to use on layouts – raising them with foam tape adds interest with dimension.
Running out of red glitter cardstock? No Problem!
To create my magical keys, I covered a sheet of cardstock with red glitter washi tape, and then die-cut the keys out of that to create my magical keys.
Adhere strips of washi tape to a piece of white cardstock. Each strip is flush with the previous strip to create a continues piece of glitter cardstock.
Then die-cut your keys out of the sheet of cardstock to create metallic keys.
The cute red hearts in glitter is from my die-cut keys – the one key has these magical hearts inside it and cutting it leaves you with more embellishments to add to your layouts.
Nothing says magical like these gorgeous coloured mushrooms. See how I added some purple Kaiser Mist splats to my layout, repeating the beautiful purple hues in the mushrooms but also from my photos. A simple design principle – repeating colours and elements.
Finishing touches like ink splats, rhinestones, punched borders and brads add loads of interest to my layout. Until next time!

“Dream” Magical Scene Layout

Hello! Donna here with a magical layout using the Enchanted collection.

I loved working on this layout. I played with it quite a bit at the beginning because I can’t decide which paper to use as the background. I finally decided using WHIMSY and created a beautiful, magical scene.

PAPERS: ENCHANTEDCollection – P2784Whimsy, P2791 Utopia, P2792 Wonder

KC PRODUCTS: SK812 Sticker Book, CT966 Collectables, EM405 White Doily, KM132Gold Shimmer, KM121 White, T302Mounting Tape, T321 Glue

I love fussy cutting and I always look for papers in a collection which I can do that. The Enchanted collection has several and the UTOPIA paper is just that.

I created a wreath-like design following the shape of the tree in the background and used a mixture of mounting tape, thick and thin, to create some depth.

Check out the slide show below for more detailed shots of the layout.

Technique Tuesday Mixed Media background

Welcome to another Technique Tuesday – creating inspiration using techniques that you can replicate easily at home. Today I am sharing a quick way of creating a messy Mixed Media background on white cardstock. This literally takes a few minutes to make and the outcome is fun and spontaneous.

Products used
Enchanted Collection: P2791 Utopia, White cardstock
KC Products: CT966 Collectibles, Purple Ink Pad, SK812 Sticker Book
Other: Book Paper, Buttons, Brads, Rhinestones, Star confetti, Thread
I created the easiest background using my ink pad and mists. Lightly swipe the ink pad over a sheet of white cardstock in a selected area.
Then use your Lavender Kaiser Mist to add splats over the ink.
Assemble your layout and then add more splats if desired.
Adhere your matted photo onto a piece of patterned paper and old book paper.
Then add flowers and other elements from your Collectibles packet.
Use foam tape to raise some of your elements for dimension and interest.
Add a tab sticker from your sticker book flush with the top edge of your layout.
Add 2 strips from your sticker book and finish off with sewing and rhinestones.
I hope you are inspired to pull out those ink pads and create some fun, quick and easy backgrounds for your next project.

Some Enchanted Inspiration

Hello all! It’s Lisa here today to share some inspiration with you.
I have been working with the Enchanted collection and it is so magical!

PAPERS: ENCHANTED Collection: P2788 Idyllic, P2789 Picturesque, P2791 Utopia, P2792 Wonder, PP1072 Paper Pad
KC PRODUCTS: CT966 Collectables, CS357 Clear Stamp Set, Ink Pads – IP734 Cherry, IP756 Gold, IP757 Black, Kaiser Mists – KM124 Red, KM126 Lime, KM132 Gold
OTHER:White Gesso or paint

For this layout, I have chosen a photo of my daughter.
I have started with the ‘IDYLLIC’ (reverse) as my base.
I have then added some white gesso, roughly where I want my photo to be.

I have then added some stamping using the Clear Stamp Set,
and some splashing of Kaiser Mists in Gold, Red & Lime.
I have then started to build my photo stack, using some of the gorgeous papers
from the Paper Pad, and some fussy cut elements.

I have then built up more of my layers by adding some of the Collectables, more pieces of the patterned papers and die-cuts from the Paper Pad.
I love to overlap and layer all my elements for more depth to the layout.

Next, I have started on my little corner cluster. I have cut the trunk scene from the Paper Pad,
and layered a door Collectable over the top of one side. I have then added some fussy cut elements, more collectables, and a die cut sentiment from the Paper Pad.

I have then added some groups of Red Rhinestones around my page,
for some added bling 🙂

I love all those gorgeous mushrooms!!
So many lovely elements to this collection.

Anyway, that’s all from me today.
I will be back soon with some more projects to share with you!

Bold Colours on set of Cards with Terhi

Hey Kaisercraft Fans!
Terhi here with a pair of cards made using the most beautiful Enchanted collection. This beautiful collection is one of two just revealed collections and it’s full of colors of the earth, sentiments and phrases from stories and it makes me want to jump right back to books I read when I was a child. Enchanted is very versatile, and for some unknown reason I’d like to smile each time I flip through the patterned papers – each and every single one is so pretty!

PAPERS: ENCHANTED Collection: P2785 Imagine, P2789 Picturesque, P2791 Utopia.
KC PRODUCTS: PP1072 Paper Pad, SK812 Sticker Book, CT966 Collectables, Smooth Cardstock White, Texture Stamp: Woven Line.
OTHER: T320 Craft Glue, T302 Foam Dots.

As said, today I’m sharing a pair of cards I’ve done. My first idea was to create very masculine a set of cards, but during the creation process my theme turned from manly keychains to pretty flowers and bright colors. To be honest, I don’t mind at all as this combination of bold red, green, black and white is my new favourite!

To create the base for the cards I first played with embossing powders and stamping. There’s also some fussy cutting and layering, and if you want to create exactly similar set of cards you can easily download PDF instructions here.

Hope this inspires you to create something beautiful today!
Terhi xx

Fairytales Are For Everyone

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a great day. When I first saw the Enchanted Collection I immediately thought of fairies, but then I thought that this collection would be perfect to capture memories of children when they dress up. If you have photos of book week, themed parties, play dates or even just having fun in the dress up corner, this collection would be perfect to capture those occassions.

PAPERS: Enchanted Collection – P2789 Picturesque |P2790 Starry-Eyed |P2788 Idyllic |P2791 Utopia |Cardstock- CD101 Coconut |CD146 Lilac

KC PRODUCTS: CT966 Enchanted Collectables |Decorative Dies –DD504 Doilies and DD339 Flutter Layered Butterfly |F664 Fire Red Paper Bloom |IP751 Chocolate Ink Pad |SB700 Silver Rhinestones

At the moment, I like tearing my papers to create texture. I have used PICTURESEQUE and have used its reverse as a contrast. To fill in the gaps, I have used another paper which also acts as a base.

To add layers to my layout, I cut out some tags and inked the edges to create a vintage look. I also scrunched up my die cut doily to add texture and to age it as well.

I like to use mounting foam to adhere different elements of my layouts. That enables me opportunities to add and tuck in the collectables and other embellishments that I have at hand.

I always look for inspiration from the paper strips at the base of the papers. I love the titles and often use them in my layouts. This was perfect for for my layout!
