Create a Vintage Layout using the Documented Collection

Hello There Crafters,

It’s Renee here, to share with you, a tutorial on how to create a Mixed Media Vintage Layout using the Documented Collection, including the Typography Template and Clear Stamps.

I start by using the Documented Collection P2462 Lockers (Reverse) as the background.

I want to create layers and texture.  So  next I am going to use Whipped Spackle and the IT030 Mini Designer Template – Typography along the right side of the page.

I allow this to dry naturally.

Using a dry brush, I add some White Gesso to the centre of the page and then also allow it to dry naturally.

To create the above affect, I use a combination of the IP719 Ink Pad – Black and a Tim Holtz Distress Ink Oxide – Vintage Photo.  Using a piece of empty packaging plastic, I add some of the ink and then stamp in the section I would like it to go, focusing more on the areas where the gesso is and around where the photo will be.

Here is a close-up:

Using CS785 Clear Stamp – Typewriter Font and an acrylic block, add some letters in random spots on the block to create an alphabet stamp.

I wanted add another pop of colour, so I use IP723 Ink Pad – Vintage and the Ruler from CS319 Clear Stamp – Documented.

Here is a short video to show you how I created the stamping technique.

This is what it looked like after I completed the stamping.

Here is a close-up:

From here it was a matter of finishing with various Patterned Paper, Collectables and Die Cuts from the Documented Collection.

The Title “Memories Together” came from SS355 Sticker Sheet – Document Collection.

Tearing sheets of Patterned Paper give this layout a vintage feel.

I love this collection and I know you will too.

I hope you were inspired and thank you for stopping by.

Documented Pen Holder by Mabel Sim

Hi Everyone!

I’m Mabel and I’m back to share with you a off-the-page piece that is really simple to make. I had DIY-ed a pen holder that comes in real handy with my increasing pen collection. I will be sharing with you how I had created this pen holder with Kaisercraft’s new collection Documented.

First, I had started out with a toilet roll that I had gotten from my office janitor as it has a bigger diameter more suitable for a pen holder. I had taken Black acrylic paint from Kaisercolour to paint the exterior and interior of the roll black.

To form the base, I had traced the exterior circumference of the roll on a
scrap piece of cardboard and cut it out.

I had also painted it black followed by apply glue on the circumference such that I can
glued it onto one end of the roll to create the base.

Don’t worry about the open edges as it will soon be covered by burlap strings.

I had also cut a strip of P2460 Library Ephemera (flipped side) while coiling burlap strings
on top and bottom of my pen holder.

Ta-da! The final look after embellishments!

Kaisercraft’s sticker sheet and collectables had made embellishing your work so much easier. There’s no need for fussy cutting and it had made entire crafting process so much faster and convenient.

To tie all elements together, I had brush on white gesso to give it a white wash effect. It also works well as a finishing touch.

Others: White Gesso, Toilet Roll, Cardboard, Burlap Strings

That’s all for my short tutorial today.

It is easy and not time-consuming to recreate. I hope you will feel inspired by my project to recreate one of your own and input your style into it. Do share with us your take on this inspiraiton.

‘Havana Nights’ ~ A layout by Kylie.

Happy New Year everyone! Today I am sharing a layout I have created with the new Havana Nights collection. This collection has a Summery vibe with fun splashes of colour.

Here is a look at my completed layout……

I have used the specialty die cut page, ‘Bamboo’, and backed some of the slots with paper from the paper pad.

I used plain white card stock as my base paper as I really wanted the specialty paper to stand out. I adhered it to the base paper with foam tape and dots to give it a raised appearance.

I have used the lovely greenery sticker from the sticker sheet as a border down the left side of my page. (To tell the truth I actually used two but it would still look fine with only one, I just wanted extra leaves!) I also used two of the smaller floral design sticker borders too.I think it gave a nice dimension to my layout.

Tucked away under my photo you will see some flowers cut from the Hanami Flowers die.I cut three seperate lots and curved them around, underneath my photo.

as soon as I saw this quote i knew it was perfect for my photo. It was at the base of the ‘Tropic’ paper sheet.I have cut it apart for balance before adding it to my layout.

To finish I added some blooms from the collectables as well as a larger bloom I fussy cut from the ‘Tropic’ paper. I used foam dots on some to raise them to give more dimension.

I hope my layout has given you some inspiration today to create your own unique pieces.

Until next time,

Kylie.

Butterfly girl – Wandering ivy Layout by Kavitha

Hello friends, Kavitha here today with you to share my monthly inspiration.

I love floral designs,so undoubtedly my favorite collection this month is “Wandering ivy”.The fresh blue n green shades of the collection gives a spring feel,so i decided to make a layout with butterfly as focal point with lots of flowers around.

I have used “Plaster rose” paper as my base and used the reverse side of it to cut the butterfly using Silhouette sd.

To embellish my layout i used few fussy cut floral from “Ivy blue fields” paper along with collectables.

My layout is fairly simply and took very less time and products to complete.Though i am a fan of layered works, some times i love to keep it simple and let the product shine.

I guess this collection is very gorgeous and doesn’t take much to make beautiful projects,do you agree?

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy crafting,
