Flashback Friday

With over 200 new members joining our facebook group just this week alone, the amount of projects being posted has increased as well. I have loved looking back over the projects you have been creating and smiling when i see an older collection featured.

This is one layout this week that caught my eye. Not sure why maybe the mixed collections being used, the bright yellow, clean lines and one of my old favourite die cut papers you have used.

Plus I love the way you have incorporated the wooden pieces into your floral clusters.

Using up some old Kaisercraft papers today. These are from the Madame Boutique Collection and the stickers are from Hello Today. Proves how versatile these ranges are to mix and match”

thanks for sharing with us Debra – please contact Melissa.k@kaisercraft.com.au for a little prize pack being sent your way.

and to everyone else reading this post, one of your gorgeous layouts or projects could be randomly chosen to be featured on our blog too. Just head over to our KAISERCRAFT CORNER to get some inspiration or upload your projects to inspire others.

Tech Tuesday – Layering Elements

Hello all! It’s Lisa here today to share some inspiration and a technique with you.
I have been working with the Let It Snow Collection and this is what I have created

PAPERS: LET IT SNOW Collection: P2804 Twinkle Star, P2806 Pine Forest, P2807 Shimmering
KC PRODUCTS: CS365 Clear Stamp Set, SK814 Sticker Book, CT968 Collectables, CR214 Curios, IT495 Scattered Stars Template, Kaiser Mist KM127 Turquoise,
Ink Pads IP746 Peacock, IP752 Smoke, IP745 Seabreeze.
OTHER:Modelling Paste, gauze.

For this layout, I wanted to use the Clear Stamp Set to add extra trees and snowflakes, stamped in Seabreeze Ink, layering with the Collectables to create a forest around my photo.

I have started by building up my background, I have used the Scattered Stars Template to stencil first with Ink and then with modelling paste.
I have also stamped some snowflakes and splashed some Kaiser Mist in Turquoise.

I have started to add in some sticker strips and snowflakes from the Sticker Book.
Adhere some gauze to your layout.
I have then added some of the trees, to start my forest.

Once I have built the first layer of trees, I then adhered my photo, and added another layer of trees, some adhered with foam tape for dimension.

I have then added some more trees to the other side of my photo,
again layering some stamped and some collectable trees.

I have then started to add some more of the stamped snowflakes.

I have used one of the Curios from this collection.

A couple of the sentiments from the Collectables and the Sticker Book.

I hope that you like what I have created.
I am in love with the colours and snowflakes in this collection, just gorgeous!

Until next time!
Lisa xo

Technique Tuesday Mixed Media background

Welcome to another Technique Tuesday – creating inspiration using techniques that you can replicate easily at home. Today I am sharing a quick way of creating a messy Mixed Media background on white cardstock. This literally takes a few minutes to make and the outcome is fun and spontaneous.

Products used
Enchanted Collection: P2791 Utopia, White cardstock
KC Products: CT966 Collectibles, Purple Ink Pad, SK812 Sticker Book
Other: Book Paper, Buttons, Brads, Rhinestones, Star confetti, Thread
I created the easiest background using my ink pad and mists. Lightly swipe the ink pad over a sheet of white cardstock in a selected area.
Then use your Lavender Kaiser Mist to add splats over the ink.
Assemble your layout and then add more splats if desired.
Adhere your matted photo onto a piece of patterned paper and old book paper.
Then add flowers and other elements from your Collectibles packet.
Use foam tape to raise some of your elements for dimension and interest.
Add a tab sticker from your sticker book flush with the top edge of your layout.
Add 2 strips from your sticker book and finish off with sewing and rhinestones.
I hope you are inspired to pull out those ink pads and create some fun, quick and easy backgrounds for your next project.

The Best Painted Background with Terhi

Hello hello, Terhi here!
It’s time for another fun Technique Tuesday and I’m here to inspire you to use our amazing line of acrylic paints to your next craft project.

PRODUCTS USED:
PAPERS:
MAGENTA Collection: P2775 Fuchsia, P2779 Raspberry, P2781 Berry, P2782 Pink, P2783 Rouge
KC PRODUCTS: PP1071 Paper Pad, CT965 Collectables, SB794 Pearls Snow, Smooth Cardstock White, CR207 Curios. KC 001 Paint White, KC010 Paint Hot Pink.
OTHER: T320 Craft Glue, T302 Foam Dots, white gel pen.

I can tell you that one of the main reasons why I love using acrylic paint on my scrapbook layouts is how quick they are. For example this background took just about three minutes to make, and half of that time I was already washing my palette knife.

To create this background I took a white cardstock and the most lovely colour of hot pink acrylic paint, added couple drops of paint straight to the cardstock and spread it around with palette knife. If you don’t have palette knife, old key card or similar will do the job. Just spread it out and leave it. If you want, let it dry and add another colour.

Cardstock is so thick that for one or two layer of paint it doesn’t need any gesso to prepare it first. It’s already ready! If you want to use patterned paper from Kaisercraft, I’d spread a layer of clear gesso first, to avoid getting wrinkled paper.
To get the paint dry I prefer air drying as preparing the heat gun takes more time than actually using it, so it is very quick to dry anyway.

Another great and easy way to use the paints is splashing. As my layout is very pink, I mixed couple drops of water and couple drops of paint, then flicked it around the page with a small brush. The white balances the layout nicely.

Hope this inspires you today!

Flash Back Friday

Yes it’s that time again, where we go back in time and revisit some of our older Collections.

Today it is the gorgeous Whisper Collection. We have a beautiful vintage layout created by Karen Moss.

Here is what Karen had to say about this Collection.

This layout is one that is close to my heart as it features my Uncle and my Mum when she was about 18 months. The Whisper range was perfect for this vintage photo. I have put this page into a box frame ready to give her for her Birthday later in the year.”

“I am an avid crafter embracing sewing, crochet and knitting but have to admit that paper crafting is my passion- with Scrapbooking at the top of my list. I spend many happy hours reliving the memories behind my photos as I scrap them.

I am sure you will agree this is such a special layout – thank you Karen Moss.

Pretty in Pink….

Good morning…. What do you think of this months NEW Collections? Well we re jumping straight into it with this weeks Technique Tuesday…. using the amazing sheet from the Magenta Collection – P2782 Pink.

PAPERS: MAGENTA Collection: P2780 Pomegrante, P2782 Pink, PP1071 Paper Pad, CT965 Collectables, CR211 Curios.
KC PRODUCTS: CD302 Coal Cardstock, T303 Foam Tape, T315 Double Sided 12mm Tape.

For my layout I decided I really wanted to use the amazing bold background – its stunning but how do you team things with it without getting lost?

Thats where the P2782 Pink comes into play……

The black and white side is the one I focused on but you can have a couple of options for this as well.

You could use your Kaiser Mists and add water and do a water colour effect. You could use your Kaiser Gel Pens and colour them in …… or leave them as they are.

So when creating this I decided to have the large size flower cluster on the right and a smaller size flower cluster on the left ( you can find the scaled down version in the paper pad).

To create the journal strips I cut up on of the bar code strips to make it fit in my space.

You can get the downloadable instructions from here . Till next time have a creative day xxx.

Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful ~ Layout by Donna Espiritu

PAPERS: MAGENTA Collection: P2782 Pink, SK811 Sticker Book, CT965 Collectables, CR211 Curios.
KC PRODUCTS: CD101 White, KM125 Candy, KM131 Black, T315 Double-Sided Tape, T303 Foam Tape, T321 Acid-Free Craft Glue

Other: White Thread

She used the fussy cut flowers and leaves from the Pink paper to create a wreath design. Before placing them, she splattered some Kaiser Mists to the background.

Using foam tape to build the flowers and curling the edges added depth and texture. She alternated between flowers, shape, and color, for an interesting detail. Then she placed the flowers and leaves in a circle shape and built the wreath design from there.

Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting!

Hi Everyone – we are back again to feature two fabulous projects created using our Scrap Studio Collection.

First we have two beautiful tags created by Susanna Easdale.

This is what Susanna had to say about Scrap Studio Collection.

“I just loved the Scrap Studio collection – it was so Vintage in style which l just adore and really inspired me to make these tags for my Journal.” – Susanna Easdale

Here is our second project using the Scrap Studio Collection – a beautiful canvas created by Emillie Chamel for her baby daughter’s room.

Here is what Emillie had to say about Scrap Studio.

“This collection was actually the first lot of scrapbooking stash I bought in over 5 years as I stopped scrapping due to “life getting in the way. I was pregnant with my baby daughter when it came out and matched perfectly the colour combination I had planned for her nursery. I just love the pink and blue combination and adore all the gorgeous butterflies and as I am a “white” rather than “cream” kind of scrapper this was perfect for me!

We hope you are enjoying our Flash Back Friday creations! Thanks Susanna and Emillie for joining us this week.
