When it comes to mixed media – really anything goes.
But how many of you have used baby wipes on your pages.
In the video below Baby Wipes when used through the stencil design, not only can help you blend colours together but it also REMOVES a layer of the paint, giving you a faux embossed feel.
When it comes to mixed media here are really no rules and almost anything goes – you just need to play and experiment.
Watch the video below to see how I have made the above page.
Add a photo to it if you want to use as a scrapbook page or cut down and use in a art journal. Better still you could do the same technique direct into a journal.
I love dabbling in mixed media elements on my layouts. You may think of going overboard but for me, the wisdom lies in knowing when to stop, when you can take something away instead of adding that one thing, then you know you have created something special that focuses on the photo and the story
This range is perfect for those special memories where you may only have a single photo that you can use enlarged to tell your story.
Adhere two sheets of smooth white cardstock together using double sided tape.
Measure about 5cm (2”) from the bottom edge and add stenciling using modelling paste. Leave the paste to dry.
Use your Kaiser mists and add colour to the stenciled images. I combined brown and black together.
Leave the ink to dry. Adhere strips cut from Buff (reverse) patterned paper down the center of your layout on both sides. I used 3 strips of paper on each side.
Cut out elements from patterned papers to use as a backdrop to your photos. I cut pieces from Bisque, Organic and Raw. Arrange the elements to the left and right side of your 7×5” (18x13cm) photo.
Die-cut some leaves and wood chip from white cardstock.
Use your Kaisermists to add colour to the die-cut pieces. First spray the die-cuts with brown mist and then lightly with black mist. Mist with water to make the ink colours mix together and create a beautiful effect.
Adhere the die-cuts to your layout using gel medium or craft glue. Cut some of the wood chips in half and use both halves on your layout.
Add gel medium to the left and right side of your photo and sprinkle with craft sand. Leave to dry and then shake off the excess.
Cut out butterflies from Buff (reverse) sheet and adhere to your layout as per the sample image.
Use stickers and other embellishments to finish off your layout as desired.
A beautiful mixed media layout using the amazing range enhanced by the stunning die-cuts and Kaisermists now available. Remember to have fun and make this your own – use these steps as inspiration and guideline to creating your own masterpiece
Tatiana Yemelyanenko is here with you and I have a new layout to share. I chose Christmas photo in neutral colors for my project and combine it with not Christmas collection ‘Whisper’. I used diagonal cmoposition for the focusing on the photo.

As I browse all the projects I created for Kaisercraft this term, this layout stands out the most to me. I love the colors, the layout design and most of all the photo of my daughter.
