Lady Like – So Talented

I love the feminine feel and delicate florals in this this beautiful collection and the combination of dainty pinks and green – and isn’t the “Rose” paper just gorgeous, perfect for fussy cutting. I had a photo in mind for my layout, my daughter & I attended a Peaky Blinders festival, I am so proud of her as she completely re-designed an over sized vintage mens outfit to fit herself.

Kaisercraft Products Used: P2874 Rose|P2876 Jessica|P2877 Elsie|P2878 Delores|P2879 Gertrude|CD331 Tutu Kaisercard|CS374 Clear Stamp Lady Like|SB777 Black Rhinestones

Other Products Used: DMC Green Thread|Black Ink Pad

I started to assemble the base of my layout using Elsie & Jessica papers and Tutu Kaisercard.

I love stitching on my layouts and projects, so after punching along two edges of the Jessica and Tutu Kaisercard I then stitched along the punched edges.

The coordinating stamp set is just so beautiful, I love the lace borders so stamped, fussy cut and stitched along the edges then added these to the layout.

How relaxing is fussy cutting, I couldn’t resist fussy cutting all those beautiful flowers from the two Rose papers.

I arranged all the beautiful fussy cut Roses around my photo, in the top right hand corner.

……….and bottom left hand corner.

I used foam pads to give some height and dimension

……and stamped and fussy cut the pretty little butterflies from the coordinating stamp set to add extra interest

Technique Tuesday – Fussy Cutting

Hi Everyone, Chrissy here with another Technique Tuesday. Today I will be sharing with you the art of “Fussy Cutting” – also what fussy cutting means, what you can fussy cut and my preferred tools to use to fussy cut with.

Kaisercraft products used: Uncharted Waters Collection P2849 Hook x 2|P2850 Streak|P2851 Tide Pool|P2853 Sea Shore x 2|P2854 Pelagic|CT973 Collectables|CD313 Caramel Kaisercard|

When I first started Scrapbooking I hadn’t even heard of the term “fussy cutting” however I soon discovered I loved the idea of cutting out beautiful flowers and images from the gorgeous papers and it was a friend who then said to me – “you love your fussy cutting don’t you” and that is how I found out what it meant and my projects over the years have featured more & more fussy cutting. So Fussy Cutting is: Cutting out specific images from your paper.

Here are a few images cut from the gorgeous Uncharted Waters papers.

I think the term “Fussy Cutting” originated from cutting material, this is what I found on Google:
“A fussy cut is a piece of fabric that’s been cut to target a specific area of a print, rather than cutting the yardage into random pieces”.

I am really drawn to beautiful floral papers, I love fussy cutting all the flowers then arranging them into clusters on my layouts – however, you don’t need pretty floral papers to be able to fussy cut, even with this beautiful “Uncharted Waters” collection there are many, many things to fussy cut. The shells and other sea themed images.

………even the ropes, (which then look 3D) anchors and shells from the “Sea Shore” paper. The corner netting image from the Hook paper which I have cut out twice, the second one slightly smaller and then layered it up on top of the first one to give some height and dimension (see image below)

….and for some extreme fussy cutting, how about this netting (below) from the “Streak” paper which I have then added to the bottom of my layout.

so yes, you can fussy cut anything!!! why not give it a go!!

There is not a set tool or scissors that you Should use to fussy cut, you can use what ever you feel comfortable using, I found very early on into my fussy cutting that I loved using one specific pair of small curved nail scissors which I still use today. (the ones on the right in below image) I do have about three other slightly different pairs of small scissors but these are just in case I loose my favourite pair as they have now been discontinued

Once all the fussy cutting has been done you can put your layout together. Another reason I love fussy cutting is that I find it very relaxing – and gives your projects that little extra lovely touch.

……..and you can use foam pads to give some height and dimension to your fussy cut elements

Thank you for popping by, I hope I have inspired you to do some fussy cutting on your projects, I look forward to seeing them in Kaiser Corner. https://www.facebook.com/groups/kaisercraftcorner/

Hello! It’s Lisa here and I have created layout using the lace stamp from the Clear Stamp set, to stamp with Denim ink, a border at the top and bottom of my base page.
I have also used the stamps to stamp out some butterflies,
that I have fussy cut and adhered to my layout.

I am in love with this romantic floral collection and the stamp set is just the icing on the cake, as you are able to use it on layouts, cards and many other projects.

Kaisercraft Products: Lady Like Collection: PP1080 Paper Pad | CD302 Coal |CS374 Clear Stamps | DD369 Oval Vintage Frame Decorative Die | CD510 Card Pack C6 Black

Other: Versamark Ink | Gold Embossing Powder | Zig Markers |Waterbrush Pen

For my card, I heat embossed the stamp using gold embossing powder and used my zig markers to colour the images in. I also used the border stamp on the side to add extra texture to the background. I masked part of the sentiment quote stamp and heat embossed it as well.

Chrissy Here

The Lady Like collection is just beautiful and I love the coordinating stamp set, especially the elegant butterfly and beautiful lace borders that are part of the set.

Products Used: CS374 Lady Like Stamp Set|P2877 Elsie Paper|P2874 Rose Paper|SB794 Snow Pearls|CS372 Paint Splatter Stamp|CD301 Snow Kaisercard|IP719 Black Ink Pad

I fussy cut the flowers & leaves from the Rose paper and stamped and fussy cut the butterflies and lace borders. I made my card blanks from Snow Kaisercard. I used the fabulous paint splatter background stamp on my card blanks, then arranged all my fussy cut elements onto them. For added interest and a bit of luxury I lined my envelope using the Elsie paper.

I hope I have inspired you to use the beautiful coordinating stamp sets.

I wanted to just add some finer details with the lace and floral stamps to my background nothing to overshadow the amazing details in the papers.

‘Blessed’ – Smelling the roses

PAPERS: LADY LIKE Collection: P2874 Rose, P2877 Elisa, P2878 Delores, P2879 Gertrude, P2882 Evelyn.
KC PRODUCTS: CT974 Collectables, SK820 Sticker Book, CR220 Curios.
OTHER: Sewing Machine

Hello all! It’s Lisa here today to share some inspiration with you all. I have been working with the stunning new ‘Lady Like’ collection.
It’s a romantic collection full of gorgeous roses and vintage elements. Perfect for those feminine photos.

I have used a few of the patterned papers to make a frame for my page. I have layered the distressed pieces and sewn them with my sewing machine.
I feel in love with the black damask paper (Gertrude) and wanted to use it on my page, but broken up a bit with some colour.

I have then done lots of fussy cutting go the roses in the papers. I have layered them all in the centre. I have then added some more of the patterned papers into the centre of my layout, as a photo stack.

I have then added some elements from the collectables and stickers to my page.

To finish I have then added my photo to the centre of the page.
I have then added a Curio and more roses in between my layers.

I love the feel that this layout has, like a bed of roses.

I hope that you like what I have created,
and that it has inspired to you to get a little crafty today!

Until next time!

My Crafty Space – Crafternoon

Hi Everyone, Chrissy here with a layout I’ve created using the fabulous “Crafternoon” collection. Oh yes…a collection about crafting!!! I love all the little fun crafty sentiments and imagery. So for my layout I decided to use a black & white photo of my craft room.

Products used: Crafternoon Collection: P2838 Handmade|P2841 Back Stitch|P2842 Crafty|P2843 Measured|P2845 DIY|P2846 Cut & Paste|FL659 Crafternoon Flourish Pack|SB777 Black Rhinestones

Other products: DMC thread|Butterfly punch

For this layout I decided to pick out a couple of colours from the collection, I just love the minty green and yellow papers then added a splash of black with some of the sentiments and painted wood flourishes – and thought a black and white photo would work perfectly.

How cute are these teeny tiny images of paint tubes, brushes and that manakin – these were fussy cut from the Handmade paper. I painted the Wooden flourish buttons black and added yellow coordinating thread to them.

I fussy cut all the beautiful flowers and leaves from the Back Stitch paper and the Making Memories hoop from the DIY paper. I have tried to add things and items to my layout that captures my love of scrapbooking – the tiny needle represents my passion of stitching on layouts, the little black scissors below for my other passion – fussy cutting.

More fussy cut flowers – next to the tiny Wooden Flourish scissors, which I also painted black

I have throughly enjoyed using this fabulous crafty collection and hope I have inspired you to create with it and I look forward to seeing those creations over on the Kaisercraft Corner facebook/ page. You can also find all these lovely Kaiser goodies over on the website.

Happy scrapping!!!

Friendship – Under the Gum Leaves

Hi Everyone, Chrissy here with the first of my October projects. Today I am sharing with you a layout I’ve created using the fabulous Under the Gum Leaves Kaisercraft collection – I just love this striking collection it is filled with beautiful Australian flora & fauna.

Kaisercraft Products: Under the Gum Leaves: P2829 Protea|P2831Bottle Brush|P2832 Gum Leaves|P2833 Fauna|P2836 Wattle|KM132 Gold Shimmer Kaisermist

Other Products: Edge punch|Red DMC Thread

I decided to focus on using the papers with all the beautiful flora on them, I had a photo in mind of my daughter and her friends, the colours matched perfectly. So I set about fussy cutting all the flowers and leaves from the Protea & Wattle papers.

I used a number of papers to make my base – Protea (reverse), Bottle Brush & Fauna. I added a couple of punched strips top and bottom and some colour coordinating stitching. I love stitching on my layouts to add that little extra interest.

I love the Gold Shimmer Kaisermist – it goes beautifully with the colours in this collection, so used it on the base of my layout.

I added my photo to the centre of the layout then started to arrange all the fussy cut elements around it.

I added foam pads to some to give height and dimension.

This collection is so versatile it can also be used for your non Christmas layouts and projects – like mine. You can find this fabulous collection over on the Kaisercraft website: https://www.kaisercraft.com.au/

Under the Tree – with Peppermint Kisses

Hi Everyone,
Chrissy here today sharing my second project for September, featuring the lovely Peppermint Kisses Kaisercraft collection. I love the playful imagery in this collection so decided to use a photo of my daughter when she was younger, she always had to sit under the tree and have her photo taken with her toys.

PAPERS, PEPPERMINT KISSES: P2811 Fun & Festive|P2813 Wrapped Up|P2816 Minty|P2817 Santa & Co|P2818 Ho Ho Ho|P2819 Under the Tree|PP1075 Paper Pad|CT969 Collectables

KAISERCRAFT PRODUCTS: KM124 Red Kaisermist|KM132 Gold Kaisermist|IP738 Lipstick Ink Pad|SB795 Red Pearls|CD301 Snow Kaisercard

OTHER: Red DMC thread

I created my base using snow Kaisercard, Minty, Ho Ho Ho & Under the Tree papers. I have also added some splashes of red & gold Kaisermist.

Of course I had to do some stitching, so before matting them all together I added this along the lengths of some of the strips with bright red thread.

Now for my favourite part – fussy cutting all the cute embellishments to decorate my layout with. I fussy cut all the pink & red poinsettias from the Fun & Festive, Ho Ho Ho and Santa & Co papers and fussy cut the very cute Nut Crackers and Reindeer.

I then layered up the poinsettias to give some dimension.

After adding my photo to the centre of my layout I then start to arrange all the fussy cut elements around it.

I like to add foam pads to some of the elements to give that little extra height and dimension.

To finish off I have added a title using one of the sayings from the papers and added some red pearls to the centres of the poinsettias .

This Christmas collection is just the cutest and I hope I have inspired you to use it.

Being together is the best gift of all – Starry Night

Chrissy here today sharing my first project with you for September, featuring the striking and gorgeous “Starry Night” Kaisercraft collection. I love the gold foiling and strong colour palette in this collection and of course the poinsettias which are crying out to be fussy cut.

PRODUCTS USED

PAPERS: Starry Night: P2820 Daring|P2823 Magic|P2824 Miraculous|P2828 Radiant|CT970 Collectable Pack|SK816 Sticker Book|CS367 Clear Stamp

Kaisercraft Products: KM132 Gold Kaisermist|SB776 Bronze Rhinestones|GC107 Golden Glitter Card Stock|DD794 Ornate Pack 2 Decorative Die|CD313 Caramel Card Stock|CD606 Navy Kaiser Card
Other: Gold DMC Thread|black ink pad

I created my base using the Navy and Caramel and the gold Glitter card stock. On top of this I layered the Magic paper and the reverse of the Daring paper which was cut to shape and edged with the gold Glitter card stock which was die-cut using the Ornate pack no:2 – and some stitching using metallic gold thread.

I also sprayed some Gold Kaisermist to the top right hand corner and bottom left hand corner of my base.

The poinsettias on the Miraculous paper are just gorgeous, so I fussy cut these and layered them up.

The coordinating stamp set has some lovely elements on it – I stamped and fussy cut the little poinsettia’s.

I like to change the colour of my photo’s to match my papers, so added a vintage/gold tone to this photo which was originally a coloured photo. I added layers under my photo and stared to bulid up the rest of my layout.

There are some lovely collectables in this collection, I used the gold swirls and gold ornate flourishes from the pack to add interest around my photo.

I finished by adding all the fussy cut poinsettias around my layout & added some bronze rhinestones to finished.

I hope I have inspired you today to use this beautiful collection – Starry Night with it’s sophisticated gold foil elements. You can find the downloadable instructions here
