Friendship – Under the Gum Leaves

Hi Everyone, Chrissy here with the first of my October projects. Today I am sharing with you a layout I’ve created using the fabulous Under the Gum Leaves Kaisercraft collection – I just love this striking collection it is filled with beautiful Australian flora & fauna.

Kaisercraft Products: Under the Gum Leaves: P2829 Protea|P2831Bottle Brush|P2832 Gum Leaves|P2833 Fauna|P2836 Wattle|KM132 Gold Shimmer Kaisermist

Other Products: Edge punch|Red DMC Thread

I decided to focus on using the papers with all the beautiful flora on them, I had a photo in mind of my daughter and her friends, the colours matched perfectly. So I set about fussy cutting all the flowers and leaves from the Protea & Wattle papers.

I used a number of papers to make my base – Protea (reverse), Bottle Brush & Fauna. I added a couple of punched strips top and bottom and some colour coordinating stitching. I love stitching on my layouts to add that little extra interest.

I love the Gold Shimmer Kaisermist – it goes beautifully with the colours in this collection, so used it on the base of my layout.

I added my photo to the centre of the layout then started to arrange all the fussy cut elements around it.

I added foam pads to some to give height and dimension.

This collection is so versatile it can also be used for your non Christmas layouts and projects – like mine. You can find this fabulous collection over on the Kaisercraft website:

I look forward to seeing your creations over on the Kaiser Corner facebook page

Peppermint Reindeer Kisses

Hi Everyone!

Happy Sunday!

It’s Trudi with you today sharing some more Peppermint Kisses inspiration.  I just love the candy stripes, pretty mint green and pink and sweet reindeer elements . Super fun and festive!

I chose to create a snow globe design for my page:KC-Peppermint-Kisses-Layout

Kaisercraft Products: Peppermint Kisses Papers- P2811 Fun & Festive, P2812 Bright Baubles, P2816 Minty, P2817 Santa & Co, P2818 Ho Ho Ho, P2819 Under the Tree; Peppermint Kisses – CT969 Collectables, PP1075 Paper Pad

To create the background you will require 2 sheets of the Minty paper. Remove manufacturing strips.  Trim one 10″ x 10″ – attach this darker side up to the other sheet

To Create the snow globe:

Cut out a circle element from the plain area of Under the Tree

** I used a smaller bread and butter plate**

Attach this to the centre of the page.

Cut a circle element (the same size) from the striped side of Santa & Co.  Trace around the inside with a smaller sized plate to create a frame.  Trim around the inside edge.  Attach over the top of the previously applied circle with foam tape/dots.

Trim the red and white spot strip from the Ho Ho Ho paper.  Attach this to the bottom of the circle to create the base of the snow globe.

Matte the photo to coordinating paper from the Paper Pad. Position and attach

Decorate the bottom of the snow globe with fussy cut Poinsettia’s from Fun & Festive and Ho Ho Ho.  Layer the floral elements attaching with foam tape/dots to add a little dimension.

Fussy cut baubles from Bright Baubles – attach one coming down from the top of the page:

The other peeking out from below the poinsettia arrangement:

Fussy cut the Christmas Tree and Deer elements from Ho Ho Ho paper.  Tuck in Christmas tree along right hand photo edge and the deer over the top.

Starry Night: Merry and Bright

Hi Everyone,

Happy Wednesday!!

It’s Trudi back with you today with another Starry Night collection showcase.

The foil elements and deep, rich toning’s make for a truly decadent and magical creative experience.

Kaisercraft Products: Starry Night Papers – P280 Daring, P2823 Magic, P2828 Radiant; PP1076 Paper Pad, CT970 Collectables, SK816 Sticker Book

The background paper is Magic and reminded me of the night sky with a million stars.  The night sky and stars were the inspiration behind the hand cut moon element.

Larger die cut stars sit behind the moon.   Around the base of the moon, fussy cut poinsettia’s from the Darling paper were layered with Collectables gold foiled flourishes.

Sticker elements, baubles and foiled stars (from Collectables) have been tucked in around the poinsettia’s.

Being together is the best gift of all – Starry Night

Chrissy here today sharing my first project with you for September, featuring the striking and gorgeous “Starry Night” Kaisercraft collection. I love the gold foiling and strong colour palette in this collection and of course the poinsettias which are crying out to be fussy cut.

PAPERS: Starry Night: P2820 Daring|P2823 Magic|P2824 Miraculous|P2828 Radiant|CT970 Collectable Pack|SK816 Sticker Book|CS367 Clear Stamp

Kaisercraft Products: KM132 Gold Kaisermist|SB776 Bronze Rhinestones|GC107 Golden Glitter Card Stock|DD794 Ornate Pack 2 Decorative Die|CD313 Caramel Card Stock|CD606 Navy Kaiser Card
Other: Gold DMC Thread|black ink pad

I created my base using the Navy and Caramel and the gold Glitter card stock. On top of this I layered the Magic paper and the reverse of the Daring paper which was cut to shape and edged with the gold Glitter card stock which was die-cut using the Ornate pack no:2 – and some stitching using metallic gold thread.

I also sprayed some Gold Kaisermist to the top right hand corner and bottom left hand corner of my base.

The poinsettias on the Miraculous paper are just gorgeous, so I fussy cut these and layered them up.

The coordinating stamp set has some lovely elements on it – I stamped and fussy cut the little poinsettia’s.

I like to change the colour of my photo’s to match my papers, so added a vintage/gold tone to this photo which was originally a coloured photo. I added layers under my photo and stared to bulid up the rest of my layout.

There are some lovely collectables in this collection, I used the gold swirls and gold ornate flourishes from the pack to add interest around my photo.

I finished by adding all the fussy cut poinsettias around my layout & added some bronze rhinestones to finished.

I hope I have inspired you today to use this beautiful collection – Starry Night with it’s sophisticated gold foil elements. You can find the downloadable instructions here

Happy crafting!!!!

You and Me – Workshop Collection

Hello Everyone!

It’s Trudi back with you today sharing a project created from the Workshop Collection.    This collection does lend itself beautifully for masculine themed projects but I have gone for a ‘feminine spin’.  I just love the grungy tonings and mechanical elements and they worked really well with the photo I had of my two girls and the sentiment was perfect!

Here is my layout:

KC Papers: Workshop Collection: P2793 Tough, P2797 Gallant, P2799 Strapping, P2800 Handsome, P2801 Chivalrous, PP1073 Paper Pad

KC Products: Workshop CR213 Curios, Wroskhop CT967 Collectables, CS371 Grid Texture Stamp, DD473 Texture Hexagons, Black Ink

The base of my layout was created from Handsome and Strapping papers.  Removing a small amount from each of the edges of the Strapping paper creates a lovely framed effect.  Roughing up the edges with a distressing tool (or the blade of a pair of scissors) and inking with black ink, adds a distressed, grungy appeal which works great with the Workshop papers.  I also added a little random tearing around the outer edges of the Strapping paper and stamped detail with the Grid Texture Stamp (before attaching to the Handsome paper).

Background stamped details were added the background paper, again with the Grid Texture Stamp.  Randomly stamp around the outer edges of where the main design will sit.

The layers behind the photo were built up with pieces of papers and fussy cut elements from the papers Tough, Gallant and Handsome.

Attaching some of these elements with foam tape/dots adds depth and dimension and makes tucking the Collectables and die cut Texture Hexagons in around and under the paper elements easier.

A light covering of ink splattering finishes it off.

**Tip – cover your photo with some paper before adding ink splats**

Believe – Let It Snow

Hello Everyone,

It’s Trudi with you today sharing a project created from the truly magical Let It Snow Collection.  The foiled elements of this collection are exquisite!  My daughter’s sparkly silver Christmas hat coordinated with the silver foiled elements of this collection beautifully.

Here is my layout:

KC Papers: Let It Snow P208 All Is Calm, P2810 Wonderland, PP1074 Paper Pad

KC Products: Let It Snow SK814 Sticker Book ,CT968 Collectables, Rhinestone Strips , Pearls

Other: Decorative Edged Circle Die

All Is Calm creates the base of my layout.  I have used the part striped side up –  The reverse of this paper has lots of sentiments which would be perfect for creating Christmas Cards.

3 x decorative edged circles were die cut from a lighter coloured coordinating paper from the paper pad.  These  were positioned behind the top left hand photo edge, and bottom left and right photo edges.KC-Layout-Let-It-Snow-2

Fussy cut elements are a perfect way of adding detail to a page.

The foiled flourishes on the Wonderland paper are just divine!  I fussy cut a few of these and arranged around the photo.  KC-Layout-Let-It-Snow-4  I also fussy cut some of the pine needles and pine cones from the the front of the paper and added these along were the two pattern designs meet on the background paper.

An embellishment cluster was created with Collectable elements and these were arranged to sit over the left hand edge of the photo.  KC-Layout-Let-It-Snow-3

A few Rhinestone Strips hang down from underneath the embellishments, a bauble from the Collectables attached to the middle one.  A few smaller baubles were added around the bottom edge of the photo.  KC-Layout-Let-It-Snow-Detai

Sparkle – Let It Snow

Hi Everyone, Chrissy here with my first official post for Kaisercraft, I just want to say again, thank you so very much for this amazing opportunity Melissa Kennedy.

For this post I am using the gorgeous “Let It Snow” Kaisercraft collection. The colours in this range are just beautiful and who doesn’t love a bit of foiling. My photo is of my daughter Merley, she loved dressing up at Christmas time in her fairy outfits.

Products used: P2803 Delightful|P2805 Snowfall|P2806 Pine Forest|P2809 O’Christmas Tree|P2810 Wonderful|CT968 Collectables|CR214 Curios|KM127 Turquoise Kaisermist|SB775 Aqua Marine Rhinestones

Other products used: DMC Thread|Tiny Star die-cuts

I started by layering up all the papers I wanted to use for my base, cut them to size then added some stitching around the edges using colour coordinating thread. I cut out a circle from the centre and tucked my photo in there just to make sure it looked ok. On reflection I decided to use a larger photo that filled the entire circle.

Now the fun bit……fussy cutting all the embellishments, I fussy cut all the beautiful foiled flourishes from the Wonderland paper, I love that when they are fussy cut they curl up and give that extra dimension on your project.

Once all the embellishments have been fussy cut, I like to arrange them around my layout without sticking them down.

I also used some of the collectables, these are just brilliant to tuck in and around your layout or project, some are just shapes others having lovely sayings on them. I have also added one of the pretty Curios to my project.

To finish off my layout I have added some rhinestones and tiny star die-cuts. This is such a beautiful collection, I have enjoyed working with and hope you do to, I look forward to seeing your creations.

Flash Back Friday

Yes it’s that time again, where we go back in time and revisit some of our older Collections.

Today it is the gorgeous Whisper Collection. We have a beautiful vintage layout created by Karen Moss.

Here is what Karen had to say about this Collection.

This layout is one that is close to my heart as it features my Uncle and my Mum when she was about 18 months. The Whisper range was perfect for this vintage photo. I have put this page into a box frame ready to give her for her Birthday later in the year.”

“I am an avid crafter embracing sewing, crochet and knitting but have to admit that paper crafting is my passion- with Scrapbooking at the top of my list. I spend many happy hours reliving the memories behind my photos as I scrap them.

I am sure you will agree this is such a special layout – thank you Karen Moss.

Flashback Friday – Two Souls Collection

This stunning Collection has been used to create Wedding Invitations, Christening Announcements, and Wedding Albums due to its soft tones.
We have found some gorgeous layouts created by Denise Holmes,
shared in our Facebook Group – Kaisercraft Corner, that we would like to feature.

Denise Holmes has created this beautiful layout for her middle son’s Wedding,
using the Two Souls collection.
Denise used a black and white photo which blends perfectly with the muted tones of this Collection.

Here is a little of what Denise had to say about what inspired her to create these gorgeous layout.

“I was inspired by the beautiful tones of the collection together with the lace and flowers which went perfectly with wedding photos. I loved the splashes of green in the collection too. The lace on the papers echoed the brides dress in my layout..’

“The flowers from the collectibles were just beautiful to cluster together as embellishments on this layout. I inked through just the dress of the stencil with green ink to go frame the layout.”

I am in love with this layout. I really like how Denise has created the wreath on her layout, using a mix of the Collectables, Stickers and those gorgeous Curios.

If you would like your project to be featured on the Kaisercraft Blog, all you need to do is share your creations in our Facebook Group – Kaisercraft Corner.
We are always on the lookout for projects from our members to be featured.

I hope you have enjoyed looking back on this collection with us!
Until next time!
