Monochromatic Flowers with Terhi

Hi there, Terhi here!
It’s the end of July but still I want to share you a layout about my most favourite thing about spring. It’s the cherry flowers, the amazing looks of the trees and smell you can’t forget!

PAPERS: MAGENTA Collection: P2775 Fuchsia, P2779 Raspberry, P2781 Berry, P2782 Pink, P2783 Rouge
PP1071 Paper Pad, CT965 Collectables, CS356 Clear Stamps, KM125 Kaiser Mist Candy, SB794 Pearls Snow, Smooth Cardstock White
T320 Craft Glue, T302 Foam Dots, Cotton thread

As said, I love cherry blooms. I know magenta colour isn’t exactly the same colours as cherry blooms but who cares, it’s obvious I love all blooms in all possible colours!

You can’t bring the smell to a layout, even though it would something you’d love to remember forever, but you can bring the thought about the smell. To do that, I decided to add as many flowers as possible to the layout, to remind about how rich and large the trees are during spring. I hope this makes me remember the smell after years. And to make sure, I also added this fact to my journaling, of course.

The background of the layout is a mix of adding colours and blocking colours. Go ahead and read the PDF instructions to learn more, download it here.

I hope you are inspired!

Believe in You – Magenta Collection

Hello, It’s Lisa back today to share another project with you.
This time I have been working with the stunning Magenta Collection.
Oh the pinks! And the florals! I fell in love with this collection.
Here is the layout that I have created.

PAPERS: MAGENTA Collection: P2776 Flamingo, P2777 Rosa, P2779 Raspberry, P2780 Pomegranate, P2782 Pink, PP1071 Paper Pad
KC PRODUCTS: CT965 Collectables, SK811 Sticker Book, CS356 Clear Stamps, CS361 Woven Line Texture Stamp, IT491 Line Art Template, CD601 White Card Stock, Ink Pads – IP739 Flamingo, IP752 Smoke, IP753 Licorice. Kaiser Mists – KM121 White, KM125 Candy, KM131 Black.
OTHER: Embroidery thread – Pale pink & Hot pink, Needle. Modelling Paste.

I have started with the gorgeous grey ‘Raspberry’ as my base for my layout.
I have then added some texture using the Line Art Template and modelling paste.
I have then used the Woven Line Texture Stamp to add some more depth.
Of course I have then added some splashes using my mists.

I have then used some of the strip stickers from the Sticker Book.
I love the new sticker books, they have so many stickers and two of each page.

I have then started to build my photo stack.
I have added layers of the papers and then added some of the gorgeous florals to my page,
fussy cut from the papers.

I have also cut flowers from the black and white part of ‘PINK’.
I have then used embroidery thread to sew centres to the flowers and segments of the leaves.

I have then added these to my layout, along with more fussy cut florals,
images stamped with the Clear Stamps, and some of the Collectables.

Lastly, I have built my corner cluster by layering some of the patterned papers,
a Collectable sentiment and some more of the flowers and foliage.

I really love the colours in this collection and the flowers are so gorgeous!

There are so many ways to colour the black and white flowers, you could sew them like I did,
or use watercolours or markers to colour them.

So many layers of gorgeousness!
I hope you like what I have created,
you can find the full instructions for this layout HERE.

Until next time!

The Best Painted Background with Terhi

Hello hello, Terhi here!
It’s time for another fun Technique Tuesday and I’m here to inspire you to use our amazing line of acrylic paints to your next craft project.

MAGENTA Collection: P2775 Fuchsia, P2779 Raspberry, P2781 Berry, P2782 Pink, P2783 Rouge
KC PRODUCTS: PP1071 Paper Pad, CT965 Collectables, SB794 Pearls Snow, Smooth Cardstock White, CR207 Curios. KC 001 Paint White, KC010 Paint Hot Pink.
OTHER: T320 Craft Glue, T302 Foam Dots, white gel pen.

I can tell you that one of the main reasons why I love using acrylic paint on my scrapbook layouts is how quick they are. For example this background took just about three minutes to make, and half of that time I was already washing my palette knife.

To create this background I took a white cardstock and the most lovely colour of hot pink acrylic paint, added couple drops of paint straight to the cardstock and spread it around with palette knife. If you don’t have palette knife, old key card or similar will do the job. Just spread it out and leave it. If you want, let it dry and add another colour.

Cardstock is so thick that for one or two layer of paint it doesn’t need any gesso to prepare it first. It’s already ready! If you want to use patterned paper from Kaisercraft, I’d spread a layer of clear gesso first, to avoid getting wrinkled paper.
To get the paint dry I prefer air drying as preparing the heat gun takes more time than actually using it, so it is very quick to dry anyway.

Another great and easy way to use the paints is splashing. As my layout is very pink, I mixed couple drops of water and couple drops of paint, then flicked it around the page with a small brush. The white balances the layout nicely.

Hope this inspires you today!

Together – Magenta

Hello and welcome Kaisercraft fans!  It’s Jo back with you to share another guest design project featuring the STUNNING new Magenta collection.

Let me just say, I adore this collection.  As pink is my favourite colour this ticked all my boxes and with those beautiful watercolour blooms – seriously how can you go wrong?

I chose this photo to scrap of my hubby and daughter on a recent trip to Sydney.

Kaisercraft products used:  PP1071 Paper Pad | P2780 Pomegrante | P2782 Pink | CT965 Collectables | DD472 Textured Weathered Die | DD547 Circle Vines Die | CS162 Stains Stamp

I started with a white background which always seems to be my go to.

I think added a couple of strips of that stunning paper Pomegrante to the top and bottom of my white card base.  To ground them I added a couple of strips of the reverse of that paper too.

I then made my paper cluster for my photo to sit on by choosing a few sheets from the 6 x 6 paper pad.  There is also a doily tucked in too.

Now comes the fun part – embellishing.  Using the Pink paper with all those pretty flowers on, I fussy cut a few of the black and white flowers to tuck under my photo adding in some of the die cuts from the collectables.

To add a little texture without getting messy I added some die cuts from the Textured Wood die and tucked them under my layers.

Next I set about clustering my embellishments on the bottom and adding the title.

I then added the Circle Vines Frame which I die cut from white cardstock and added my butterfly over the top.  A pop of black with some stamping and your layout is complete!

Thank so much for popping by.

Until next time

Theres nothing like a collection that makes your feel happy as your look at it and this months Magenta Collection – IN STORE NOW will make you feel happy for sure. Its bold and bright with some nice dark pieces to play along.

PAPERS: MAGENTA Collection: P2776 Flamingo, P2782 Pink, P2783 Rouge, PP1071 Paper Pad, CT965 Collectables, CR211 Curios.

KC PRODUCTS: T303 Foam Tape, T315 Double Sided 12mm Tape.

To create instant texture and dimension use glue and foam tape to stick down your flowers but dont stick them down completely, that way you can curl the edges to stop them looking too flat.

Add flowers over the photos negative space to help tie your layers together.

For me its always about finding the fussy cutting and there is plenty for you to do in this collection.

Love Life Scrapbook Layout

Hello, loves. Donna here with a new layout using the Magenta collection.

For a change, I created a scrapbook layout using my photo, so it’s like an “About Me” page. I like flowers and pink is my fave color so it’s just quite apt, I think.

Click the image above or HERE to download the PDF instructions for this layout.

The pop of black and the “naked” wood flourishes added great contrast to all the pinks in the layout. I opted to leave the flourishes as is instead of coloring them with black or something else.

One of the things I love doing recently is curling the tips or edges of the flowers and leaves. I like the added texture it gives to the layout.

That’s all from me today. Thank you for dropping by and see you in my next post.

Happy crafting,
